Hello Waveriders!

Recharter time will be here sooner than you think!  At the last committee meeting, it was agreed upon to release the following fee schedule for this upcoming year.  The recharter fees are as follows (and dependent on whether the council changes the fee schedule):

Monday, August 4th Meeting Cancelled

Hello Mighty 737 Waveriders,
The Troop meeting for Monday, August 24th will be cancelled so families can spend  time together getting ready for the first day of school on Tuesday. All plans will be moved to the Monday, August 31st Troop meeting. Enjoy your weekend and have a great First Day of School.

Philmont 101

One of the greatest and most rewarding high adventure experiences in Scouting is executing a backpacking trek in the New Mexico backcountry at Philmont Scout Ranch.  The planning process begins 18-months in advance of your trip.  Having just completed a trek to Philmont, I am offering my guidance/lessons learned to any Adult who may be interested in organizing a Crew to travel to Philmont.  I can be contacted at sbburick@gmail.com.

Chris Mauerman Eagle Project

Chris Mauerman is currently working on his Eagle Scout Project for Second Harvest Food Bank and needs volunteers on both this Saturday, August 22nd and this Sunday, August 23rd.  On Saturday he will be picking/harvesting food at Second Harvest Food Bank’s “Incredible Edible” fresh produce farm located in the Great Park, Irvine from 1:00-3:00PM.  He will be able to give a ride to up to 4 other scouts.  On Sunday, he will be both collecting food from St. Andrew’s By the Sea United Methodist Church and from our local Albertsons.  There are two shifts at St. Andrew’s: first from 9:45-10:15AM and second from 11:15-11:45AM.  He will be collecting from Albertsons from 12:00-3:00PM and that will also have two shifts: first from 12:00-1:30PM and second from 1:30-3:00PM.  Please email or call him if interested and more information will be given.  He needs many volunteers so please sign up.  His email is: Cmauerman@cox.net and his phone number is: (949)-366-6484.  Thank you to all of you who have already helped so far!


Joshua Tree Trip Sept. 25-27: Leader Needed!

Our yearly Joshua Tree camping trip is right around the corner and we need to know who is interested. This is an easy two-night, drive-up camping experience in the Joshua Tree National Park offering beautiful scenery, desert hikes, and epic boulder climbing.
